sixfound is an early test of small group activities for meeting new people, run by Hatem, an individual based in Ireland. Here's what happens to what you tell us.
What we collect
- How you sign in: your email address, or your WhatsApp number if you verify with WhatsApp (WhatsApp tells us the number your message came from). If you add a passkey, we keep only its public key; your face, fingerprint and screen lock never leave your device.
- Your answers to the sign-up questions: your city, how you define yourself, your stage of life, what you're looking for, the sidequests you'd do, how you feel about plans built around a drink, your budget, when you're free, how you lean on the paired statements, the qualities you value, your music, where you grew up, the languages you speak, and your field of work. The optional ones you can skip. Each question says why we ask it, and we only ask what helps us form a good group: nothing about relationships, children, politics, religion or health.
- After a sidequest: how you rated it, and whether you'd meet each person again.
- If you join a season: that you joined and when, which meets you came to, whether you're happy for your home table to see your number, and your answers to the short questions if you leave or when the season ends.
- Your profile: first name, date of birth, phone number, any photos you add, and your answers to the profile prompts.
- Where you came from, if the link you used says so (for example, a particular Reddit post), so we know which posts are worth writing.
- Invites: whether you're in or still on the list, which invite code you used, if any, and your own invite code once you're in, with how many of its invites have been used.
Why
To put you in a group of people you're likely to get on with, and to text and email you about your group and about sixfound. In a season, everyone's private answers after each meet decide who sits together at the next one; joining a season is a separate yes, and you can leave any time. Joining is free and we never ask for payment details. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box when you sign up, and you can withdraw it any time by deleting your answers below.
Who sees it
Only sixfound. When you're matched, the other people in your group see your first name, your age, your photos, your prompt answers, and the sidequests you're up for. They never see your surname, email, phone number, date of birth, or any of your other answers.
If you send someone your invite link, they see your first name with it ("Aoife invited you"), and nothing else about you. Nobody is told who used your code.
Your ratings of other people are never shown to anyone. The one exception is good news: if you and someone both say you'd definitely meet again, you both find out.
In a season, if you tick the box for it, the people at your home table see your phone number in a WhatsApp group we set up for them. If you don't tick it, they don't, and you can change your mind on My sidequests. Reports go to a person at sixfound, never to the person you report.
Where it's kept, and for how long
Your answers are stored privately with our providers: Vercel (hosting, in its Dublin region) and Supabase (our database, in the EU). Photos are kept privately with Vercel and are never public on the web. Emails are sent through Resend, and WhatsApp messages go through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. We keep everything for up to twelve months after you last update it, or until you delete it, whichever comes first. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.
Counting visits
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, so we can see which pages people read and whether a post or an ad brought anyone in. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't keep anything on your device, and doesn't tell us who you are. It's told the page, the site you came from, roughly where you are (the country), and your type of browser and device. Before a visit is counted we take invite codes and links from emails out of the address.
We also count three steps: opening an invite link, opening the questions, and finishing them (whether you went straight in or onto the list). Never your answers, your name or your contact details.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask to see, correct, or delete your data. To update your answers, go through sign-up again on the device you used the first time (or sign in), and your new answers replace the old ones. To delete everything, use the form below. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
